Breakeven on this covered call trade was $61.23.
The $62 sold call expired worthless on friday as XRT closed at $61.72.
However, over the weekend, a dividend of $0.544 per share was distributed resulting in the price of XRT going down on monday by that much amount. Also momentum carried it down further to close the day at $60.49.
We did not plan well for the trade as the dividend drop was not accounted for when we did the trade and we were also slow to not have protection first thing monday morning to replace the expired sold call.
We did manage to close out the long stock position at $61.01 during the day.
This position was closed for a loss.
